$$$ Perfect Job for Actors and Models $$$

Over two decades students and clients that I coach express concerns about getting a full-time job that pays enough to cover their living expenses and allows them to afford acting classes, private coaching, new headshots, demo reel, membership fees for Showfax, Actors Access, LAcasting / Casting Network, Now Casting, etc. I have observed so many great actors destroying their life by taking part-time jobs that pay only small part of daily expenses; actors got their cars repossessed, evicted, clinically depressed, etc. All that reflects on person's face, which is one of the selling points for actors. My advice to all actors is to get a full time or well-paid part-time job. During your interview do not mention that you are an actor and that will need time off for auditions. Get hired first and do the best you can at your new work as that will give you a leverage to get a permission to step out for an hour when you get an audition. Try to schedule your auditions during your lunch break or at the end of the day. If you are doing an exquisite job, but your employer doesn't recognize that and doesn't allow you to step out for an hour or two, you can suggest to make it up by staying longer or coming to work earlier. If that doesn't work and you got an audition that you don't want to miss, call in sick or say that you have a doctors appointment. Go to your audition and start looking for a new job as sooner or later they will let you go or fire you from your current job. If possible at all do not quit on your own.

P.S.

If you are interested to get some free private coaching in exchange for some work as an assistant and/or experimental acting projects, please send me a private message with your acting resume as well as your regular resume. If you don't have any experiences, please note that in your message, and provide a list of your skills, hobbies, etc.
